Sun Life named one of the 2024 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World

 

For the 15th consecutive year, Sun Life has earned a spot on the Corporate Knights’ 2024 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World. We ranked first among insurance companies in Canada and represented one of only 12 Canadian companies across all sectors.

 

The Global 100 tracks the sustainability performance of publicly-traded companies with over US$1 billion in gross revenue. It uses publicly disclosed data on up to 25 KPIs covering resource management, employee management, financial management, sustainable revenue  and supplier performance.

Sun Life listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index

In 2023, for the 18th consecutive year, Sun Life was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North America). The DJSI North America tracks the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance of the top 20% of the 600 largest Canadian and U.S. companies that are sustainability leaders . Sun Life is one of only eigth North American insurers to be included in the 2023 DJSI. This recognition reflects Sun Life’s commitment to being sustainability-driven in everything we do.

For the 13th consecutive year, Sun Life has earned a spot on the Corporate Knights’ 2022 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World. We are tied for the #1 position among insurance companies globally. This ranking represents the top 1% in the world on sustainability performance.
 

The Global 100 tracks the sustainability performance of publicly-traded companies with over $1 billion in gross revenue. It uses publicly disclosed data on up to 24 KPIs covering resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue & clean investment and supplier performance.

Sun Life named one of Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens

Corporate Knights has once again included Sun Life on its list of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada. The 2022 edition places Sun Life 21st overall, driven in part by strong scores on executive gender diversity, board racial diversity and sustainability linked to executive pay. Sun Life has appeared on the annual ranking 17 of the 21 years since its inception.

Sun Life included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index

In 2021, for the 16th consecutive year, Sun Life was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI). The DJSI tracks the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance of the world’s leading sustainability-driven companies. Sun Life is one of only seven North American insurers to be included in the 2021 DJSI.

Sun Life gets a perfect score when it comes to LGBTQ Diversity and Inclusion

Sun Life received a perfect score, for the second year in a row, on the LGBT Corporate Canadian Index (CCI) for our strong commitment in taking quantifiable actions to support the LGBTQ community. The LGBT CCI measures LGBTQ diversity and inclusion for Canadian companies listed on the S&P/TSX Composite Index, by rating workplaces on their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. We’re proud to be included on the Index and celebrate our achievements in promoting equality and inclusion for the LGBTQ community and in the workplace.

Sun Life ranks #1 in Forrester’s November 2016 Canadian Life Insurance Digital Sales Functionality Benchmark

In the first Canadian life insurance digital sales functionality benchmark by influential, research and advisory firm Forrester Research, Sun Life proudly took the top spot. Our score of 75/100 outperformed the industry average score of 47/100, thanks to our ability to support the needs of both Clients who prefer to buy online and Clients who prefer to work with an advisor.
 

Forrester rated Sunlife.ca’s Life insurance experience using 35 criteria on desktop, tablet and mobile, and categorized the results in 3 stages: discover, explore and buy. We achieved a near-perfect score at the discover stage, where we help Clients think through their life insurance needs, and we earned the top score for our ability to simplify the sales process.
